Well, who saw that coming? Probably everybody. Mike Tyson might be the greatest Heavyweight Boxer in the history of Boxing, but even he cannot escape the passage of time. Jake Paul, who is 31 years younger than Mike Tyson proved that today by dominating Iron Mike for the majority of the 8 rounds that they fought. In the end in his own words Jake went “easy” on Mike.
For the lovers of Boxing it was a dark dark day. But for Jake Paul and his fans, if there are any, it couldn’t get better. Yet the Internet especially those who are level headed know what took place in the AT&T Arena in Arlington, Texas was nothing short of a disgrace. A fight that should have never happened in the first place.
The legacy of Mike Tyson, believe it or not got tarnished. Jake Paul in the last few seconds of the 8th round even bowed down to the boxing great to show his respects. If anything it’s a miracle that Iron Mike lasted the full 8 rounds.
But it was in just the end of the 2nd round that he looked already gassed out. His speed diminished massively and so did his reflexes. As the fight went on, he looked more and more out of focus. Jake Paul grew into the fight with ease and began landing quality punches more and more frequently. By the end of the 5th round many Mike Tyson well-wishers had already switched off their television sets as they could no longer watch their hero get pummeled by a content creator.
Jake Paul became only the 6th fighter in history to have defeated Mile Tyson in the boxing ring. That’s some accomplishment to have. Meanwhile for Iron Mike Tyson, his biggest win was stepping into the ring with someone half his age. That takes some guts to do.
