It is a great honour to lead CSK: Rituraj Gaikwad

Ruturaj Gaikwad has expressed his happiness at being allowed to lead the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL.
After Mahendra Singh Dhoni stepped down as the captain of the Chennai Super Kings, Rituraj Gaikwad was chosen as the captain. This was a shock to the cricket world before the start of the IPL tournament.

Rituraj Gaikwad has shared his first reaction as the captain of the Chennai Super Kings team on social media. In it, Rituraj Gaikwad says, ‘Being the captain of the Chennai Super Kings team is really a great thing. It feels so good. Of course, it is a great honour. There is an even greater responsibility. But given the type of team we have, I am very excited to lead the team. Everyone is experienced and so it’s great for me to lead.’

There is not much to assume. The good thing for me is that Mahi Bhai is in my team to show me the way. Jaddu Bhai is (Jadeja). Ajju Bhai is (Rahane). He is a great captain. Not much to worry about. Rituraj Gaikwad has expressed his reaction that he is eager to enjoy the captaincy.

Rituraj Gaikwad has joined the Chennai Super Kings team in 2019. In the 52 matches played so far, Rituraj has scored 1797 runs at a strike rate of 125.52. Rituraj has scored a century and 14 fifties in this tournament. Last season, Rituraj scored 590 runs in 16 matches for CSK. Rituraj played a major role in helping Chennai win their fifth title. Rituraj is the seventh-highest run-getter for CSK.

India won the gold medal

Rituraj Gaikwad led the Indian team in the Asian Games held in China last year and won the gold medal for India. 27-year-old Rituraj Gaikwad made his T20 international debut for India in 2017. Rituraj has played 19 matches in T20 matches so far. He has scored 500 runs in it. He has scored one century and three fifties. Rituraj has scored the highest 115 runs in six ODIs.
