IPL 2025: 4 players Delhi Capitals will retain ahead of mega auction

Indian Premier League (IPL) is the source of bringing up new Indian talents. Over the years the tournament has given rise to many talents from the country. However, some have grabbed the talents and some have failed to rise to the expectations. The event will be entering its 18th season. It is the longest-running T20 franchise league in the world.

The previous edition saw some earlier records being broken. Some scintillating young uncapped cricketers performing for their franchises. The forthcoming season will be a difficult one as the teams will be re-shuffled once again. The mega auction will take place in the 2025 edition. The 10 teams can only retain four cricketers and do one Right-to-Match card. They will have the chance to buy out their former players. More cricketers will be going under the hammer than the usual numbers as the teams need to rebuild almost from scratch.

Delhi Capitals (DC) have been one of the best-looking sides on paper over the years. However, they failed to meet up with the expectations. They despite performing in the later half of the tournament missed out on the playoffs spot. They have dismissed their head coach Ricky Ponting. As per reports, Sourav Ganguly will be taking over the responsibility. They have a sorted player retention list. We take a look at the players that will be retained by the side.

Here are the 4 players retained by Delhi Capitals

4. Tristan Stubbs

Tristian Stubbs has been one of the finest T20 batters in the world currently. Stubbs was crucial in the middle order for South Africa and Delhi Capitals in the last edition. Stubbs scored 378 runs in the last edition of the IPL with an average of 54 and a strike rate of 190.91.

3. Kuldeep Yadav

Kuldeep Yadav has surged himself in the IPL and the Indian team as well. The wrist spinner has been the main spinner for the Capitals and India as well. He picked up 16 wickets. His uniqueness in terms of being a rare breed of chinaman bowlers is something that has always been an X Factor.

2. Axar Patel

Axar Patel has been one of the best all-rounders for India. The all-rounder has improved his batting skills. He has played a lot of match-winning innings for both franchise and national teams. Axar has been a three-format player for the Men in Blue. He picked up 11 wickets and scored 235 runs.

1. Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant has regained his life after a major accident in 2022 December. But he made an excellent comeback to cricket that has been an inspiring story overall. Pant made his comeback through IPL and then played for India as well. He will be retained by the Capitals and look forward to winning the trophy under his captaincy.
