Puma has been one of the finest sportswear brands in the world. The German brand has been the sponsor of many famous sports stars from Virat Kohli to Usain Bolt. Over the years it has established its market in the whole world. Indrajeet Sen who has been with the company since 2016 will be overtaking the global sourcing and development of footwear, apparel, and accessories.
Sen will also be looking at operations and sustainability. The newly appointed operations manager will be directly reporting to the Puma chief product officer Maria Valdes and be based in Xiamen, China. Previously he worked as the vice president of sourcing and development footwear at Puma. Previously he worked as a global quality manager for German footwear retailer Deichmann. Descours, Puma’s current chief sourcing officer, has worked with the company for almost 12 years.
He has decided to step down as a board member in favour of serving as an external sustainability advisor. Freundt also commended Descours’ contribution to “successfully establishing and executing Puma’s sustainability strategy.” With Descours’ resignation at the end of 2024, Puma’s management board will be reduced from four to three members. Freundt as CEO, Hubert Hinterseher as CFO, and Valdes as Chief Product Officer.

Will Indy Sen take Puma to new heights? It will be a big shoe to fill as he succeeds a person who has worked with the company for 12 years and in the industry for 35 years. Nevertheless, it will be challenging but Sen will be able to take the footwear company to new heights. The company is also hopeful to bring in new ideas and operations to increase the sales and marketing of Puma.
