The West Indies, two-time champions, have climbed to fourth place thanks to their players’ excellent form ahead of the T20 World Cup. With a 3-0 win over South Africa, New Zealand has moved to fifth place, while South Africa has dropped to seventh. Australia, the 2021 champions, hold the second position with 257 points. Defending champions England are third with 254 points, closely followed by the West Indies with 252 points.
New Zealand has 250 points, while Pakistan and South Africa each have 244 points. Pakistan is ranked higher than South Africa based on decimal points. Before the tournament opener against Papua New Guinea on June 2, the West Indies players performed brilliantly in their home series, which boosted their rankings. The latest update includes the results from the Bangladesh-USA series and the ongoing series between England and Pakistan.
India is placed in Group A of the T20 World Cup and arch-rivals Pakistan, Ireland, Canada, and the USA.
