Indian team leaves for Commonwealth Cadet and Junior Fencing Championship

Team India has left for the Commonwealth Cadet and Junior Fencing Championship. The event is to be held in Christchurch, New Zealand. The Commonwealth Cadet and Junior Championship has been organized from July 12 to 19.

International players like Gayatri Gote, Tejas Patil, Rohan Shah from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar along with Gauri Solunke from Buldhana district, Anuja Lad from Mumbai, and Sai Prasad Jagwad from Latur have been selected for this tournament. Coach Tukaram Mehetra of Sai Sports Training Center will also be there with the team for the upcoming tournament.

All these athletes have won individual and team medals in the Junior and Cadet competitions held last year. Based on this performance, they have been selected in the Indian fencing team and all these athletes have left for the Commonwealth Games. The team would hope to bring in some medals for the nation in the mega event.
