India’s top golfer Shubhankar Sharma has secured a spot in the upcoming Paris Olympics with an impressive performance. Shubhankar Sharma, along with Gaganjeet Bhullar, will represent India in the men’s golf tournament at the Paris Olympics. Both golfers qualified by ranking in the top 60 in the Olympic golf rankings.
Shubhankar and Gaganjeet are ranked 48th and 54th, respectively. The qualification cutoff date for men was June 17, while for women it was June 24. Gaganjeet Bhullar is an experienced golfer and has been an 11-time Asian Tour Champion. He also won a silver medal in the 2006 Asian Games and was honoured with the Arjuna Award in 2013.
Shubhankar Sharma is a two-time winner of the Asian Tour and was the best-performing Indian at the 2023 Open Championship. Last month, Shubhankar praised the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) initiative for its support to athletes.
