The Indian football team is gearing up for a crucial phase in their journey towards the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers. In preparation for the upcoming matches against Kuwait and Qatar, the team is set to undergo a four-week training camp in Bhubaneswar starting from May 10.
Following the training camp, the Indian team will head to Kolkata on June 2, where they will face Kuwait at the Salt Lake Stadium on June 6. The All India Football Federation (AIFF) confirmed this schedule via a tweet on Wednesday, stating, “The Indian Senior Men’s National Team will hold a four-week preparatory camp at Bhubaneswar, Odisha from 10 May 2024.” Additionally, the tweet mentioned, “The team will travel to Kolkata on June 2 before the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Kuwait!”
With the disappointing 1-2 loss against Afghanistan in Guwahati last month still fresh in their minds, the Indian team is determined to bounce back. Currently positioned second in their group with several points from four matches, the Blue Tigers are eyeing a strong finish to secure their spot in the third round. After the clash with Kuwait, the team will journey to Qatar for their final group-stage match on June 11.
