33 sports infrastructure projects in 18 states were inaugurated by the Union Minister of State for Sports Nishith Pramanik. Pramanik said that the state-of-the-art facilities will act as a catalyst to help India emerge as a sports powerhouse soon as per Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision.
Union Minister of State for Sports Nishith Prasani inaugurated 33 infrastructure sports facilities in 18 states at a cost of Rs. 262 crores online. Financial assistance under the Khelo India scheme through MYAS will help India emerge as a sports superpower. Also, this development will enable the Sports Authority of India and state governments to organize national and international competitions, said Pramanik.
Union Minister of State for Sports Pramanik launched nine projects under six SAI centres besides 24 Khelo India projects developed in various states through video conferencing. Pramanik said that today we have started 24 Khelo India and nine Sai projects. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said that elections should never come in the way of progress. We are providing world class infrastructure to children. Which will help them to hone their qualities and skills. Athletes will get the best coaching and training to win medals for India in national and international competitions.’
Inauguration of two projects
Two projects at Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar were inaugurated by Samanika. It includes a dormitory (300 bed capacity) and a fencing hall for sportsmen. On this occasion Union Minister of State for Finance Dr. Bhagwat Karad attended through online mode. Also, MP Imtiaz Jalil, Regional Director Pandurang Chate, Center in-charge Dr. Monika Ghuge, Assistant Director Sumedh Tarodekar, Maharashtra State Fencing Association General Secretary Dr. Uday Dongre and other dignitaries were present.
