The International Cricket Council (ICC) has approved a budget of Rs 544 crore for the Champions Trophy. This means that if the Indian team does not tour Pakistan, then India’s matches will be played in other countries. Additional provision has been made for this in the budget.
The Champions Trophy cricket tournament will be held in Pakistan in February next year. Pakistan is the host of this tournament. It is not yet clear whether the Indian team will tour Pakistan or not. BCCI has not yet made any official statement in this regard.

If the Indian team does not go to play in Pakistan, India’s matches can be held outside Pakistan under the hybrid model. India’s matches can be played in UAE or Sri Lanka. That’s why the budget amount has been increased so much.
Will Pakistan convince India to travel and play?
They have been awarded the host title of the Champions Trophy. The PCB has submitted a draft of the venue to the ICC. The competition will be held in February-March next year. According to the draft, India has been placed in Group A along with Pakistan, Bangladesh, and New Zealand. Group B consists of Australia, South Africa, England and Afghanistan. For the first time since the 1996 ODI World Cup, Pakistan has been allowed to host an ICC tournament.
At the ICC meeting, PCB President Mohsin Naqvi was expected to discuss hosting the Champions Trophy with BCCI Secretary Jai Shah. But there was no discussion about this on both boards. The Champions Trophy will be held in Pakistan next year.
For that, 6 teams have agreed to go to the nation. However, the situation regarding the departure of the Indian team is not yet clear. In such a scenario, this competition can take place in a hybrid model. There was no discussion on this issue in the ICC meeting. In this, only the budget for the Champions Trophy was passed.
