On Friday, Hockey India celebrated Jarmanpreet Singh‘s milestone of completing 100 international caps as India faced Belgium in their second match of the European leg of the FIH Hockey Pro League 2023/24 in Antwerp, Belgium.
Jarmanpreet Singh, hailing from Punjab—a state renowned for producing exceptional hockey talent—has made significant contributions to Indian hockey. A skilled defender, Jarmanpreet debuted for the Indian Men’s Hockey Team at the 2018 Men’s Hockey Champions Trophy in Breda, where India secured a second-place finish. He was also part of the team clinched the Gold at the 2018 Men’s Asian Champions Trophy in Muscat, Oman.
At 27, Jarmanpreet has been integral to the team’s successes, including their third-place finish at the 2021 Men’s Asian Champions Trophy in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and the Silver medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. He was part of the squad for the FIH Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup 2023 in Bhubaneswar – Rourkela and participated in the FIH Hockey Pro League 2022/23. Recently, he won a Gold medal with the Indian Men’s Hockey Team at the Asian Games in Hangzhou in 2023 and is currently competing in the European leg of the FIH Hockey Pro League 2023/24.

I have been fortunate to have the support of my family, friends, and support staff. Hard work is essential, but having a strong backing makes the journey smoother. I thank everyone for their unwavering support and will continue to give my all to this beautiful game.”
