In a spectacular showcase of archery prowess, Shalay Khadgi, Arya Raut, Aryan Dhage, and Ojaswi Salve clinched gold medals across various categories at the Inter-College Archery Competition hosted by Principal Arunrao Kalode College and the Sports Department of Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University.
The competition, held at Principal Kalode College ground in Omkar Nagar, witnessed Aryan Dhaga of SSNJ College, Deoli, securing the gold medal in the men’s recurve event with an impressive 659 points. R. W. Premansh Danhe of College of Arts claimed silver (610 marks), and Divyansh Suri of MDSS College secured bronze (605 marks).
In the women’s recurve category, Ojaswi Salve of Lok College, Wardhe, claimed the gold with 533 marks, while Samriddhi Rangari of Priyadarshini College secured the silver.
Shalay Khadgi of VMV College emerged victorious in the compound men’s category, clinching gold with 677 marks. His counterpart, Harsh Mate, secured silver (665 marks), and Aryan Nagar of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Law College earned bronze (632 marks). In the women’s compound category, Arya Raut of Shivaji Science secured gold with 216 marks, and Indra Bechpal of SVPCET College took home the silver with 16 marks.
The prize distribution ceremony, presided over by Saibaba Lokseva Sanstha President Adv. Omkar Umathe, featured the presence of senior journalist Kishore Bagde, Ratum Nagpur University senate member Dr. Sanjay Chaudhary, and Sanjay Kahurke, Secretary of Nagpur District Archery Association, among others.
The stellar performances at the Inter-College Archery Competition underscore the depth of talent and dedication among the emerging archers, promising a bright future for Indian archery.
