Gautam Gambhir has been appointed as the new head coach of the Indian Men’s team. The former Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) mentor has succeeded in the seat of Rahul Dravid. He joined the side after the T20 World Cup in 2024. The Southpaw known for his aggressive style of coaching has won and lost a series in Sri Lanka in his first tenure. He was criticised after the loss in the ODI series.
The Men in Blue is preparing for the forthcoming Test series against Bangladesh at home. The 2007 T20 World Cup winner is very straightforward with his words and will not think twice about making a bold decision. Before the start of the series, he made Suryakumar Yadav the T20I captain removing Hardik Pandya. As the latter, most of the time is out injured. He relied on someone who could lead the side in crucial events.
Rishabh Pant has dropped a controversial comment about the former Delhi captain. The wicket-keeper batter shared his thoughts about playing under Gambhir. He was asked about the biggest shift in Indian cricket under the 2011 World Cup winner. Pant believes that Dravid was much more balanced as a person and a coach. However, Gauti has been more of more aggressive, focused solely on winning. The head coach needs to change his mindset and become a little more flexible and balanced.

Is Gambhir’s dictatorship coaching rule acting as stifles for the players? The cricketers will take some time to adjust to his coaching style however, he never loves to lose a game and always backs his players despite their poor form and performances. The players also need to support their new coach. Blaming him for his aggressive approach will be a negative option for the side.
India will be playing their first match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, while the second match will take place at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur from September 27 onwards. Then they will play the T20I series and will be hosting New Zealand for a test series before travelling to Australia for the Border Gavaskar Trophy.
