In a poignant tribute to the late Fulchand Yadav, the Yadav Memorial Boxing Tournament kicked off at the district level in Pune. The inauguration, granted approval by the Pimpri Chinchwad City Boxing Association, was graced by distinguished personalities, including former MLA and President of Pune District Boxing Association, Adv. Gautam Chabukswar, Sandeep Kate (Director, Challenger Public School), and Senior Police Inspector Rajendra Nikalje.
Notable figures such as Arjun Awardee Gopal Devang, Vijay Yadav (Secretary, Pimpri Chinchwad City Boxing Association), and International Boxer K. T. B. Thapa added prestige to the event. The ceremony witnessed the presence of esteemed individuals, including Rajesh Yadav and Manoj Yadav (Competition Secretary), reflecting the strong support from the boxing community.
Despite the noble cause of the tournament, some critics argue that memorial events should focus more on grassroots development than competitive tournaments, fostering a broader participation base.
