Gandhar Navale, Aryan Sharma, and Tamil Arasan advanced by defeating their opponents in the men’s singles qualifying round of the Yonex Sunrise VV Natu Memorial All India Senior Ranking Badminton Tournament organized by Pune District Metropolitan Badminton Association. The tournament was inaugurated by former international badminton player Datta Dhongade, secretary of PDMBA CA Ranjeet Natu, and coordinating secretary of the tournament Rajeev Bagh.
Top seed Raunak Chauhan of Chhattisgarh defeated Sourav Thakur of Maharashtra 15-9, 15-4 in the men’s singles qualifying round in the second leg of the men’s singles qualifier at the PE Societies PDMBA Sports Complex, Shivajinagar, COEP Badminton Court, PYC Hindu Gymkhana Badminton Court. Gandhar Navale defeated Uttar Pradesh’s Ananda Seenu ST 15-12, 15-7.

Maharashtra’s Krish Desai ended Haryana’s Aman Kumar’s run by beating 15-9, 15-10. Tamil Nadu’s Tamil Arasan V defeated Kerala’s Thomas Jacob 15-7, 15-10. On the other hand, Aryan Sharma of Delhi defeated Nirban Pal of Maharashtra 15-17, 15-7, 15-6 in a tight match. Awadhesh Jat of Madhya Pradesh defeated Sushant Reddy Molugu of Telanna 15-17, 15-11, 15-9.
In women’s singles, Maharashtra’s Gargi Degvekar defeated Chhattisgarh’s Deepali Gupta 18-16, 15-10 in the first qualifying round. While Vedika Siddheshwari of Maharashtra defeated Rajasthan’s Garima Yadav 15-3, 15-5 to reach the second qualifying round. Maharashtra’s Shivani Sonwane defeated Uttar Pradesh’s Nandini Yadav 15-4, 15-9. While Manya Avalani defeated Telangana’s Akshaya Chaudhary 15-13, 15-10.
