Virat Kohli 2027 World Cup Inclusion Confirmed: Gambhir & Kohli Put An End To The Masala

Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir in their own rights are two of the most talented batsmen the sport of Cricket has ever seen and certainly Delhi’s biggest gifts to Indian Cricket. But when put together, their “Delhi lads” come out stronger than ever. Being former teammates, the 2011 WC-winning duo have had many episodes of flaring tempers between them both on and off the pitch. And hence, without a doubt, there have always been rumours of a beef brewing between the two Delhiites.

There have been two situations haunting Indian Cricket Fans for some while now. Firstly, that with Gautam Gambhir’s appointment as the Indian Head Coach, there will be some friction in the dressing room between the head coach and Kohli. The other worry for Indian fans, especially after Kohli’s retirement announcement after the T20 World Cup, is the date when their King announces his retirement from the remaining formats of the game as well.

But in a surprising move, both Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli featured in an interview together where they cleared any suspicions regarding both of the prospects worrying the Indian Cricket Fans. The interview showed the Indian fans a very unique side of the two Indian legends, a side no one had seen before.

Virat Kohli started the interview by saying, “Here we are. We’ve come a long way and here we are putting an end to all the masala.” To which Gautam Gambhir agreed and said that its a good way to start this interview, and both of them chuckled.

Further during the special interview, Gautam Gambhir heaped a lot of praise for Virat Kohli and his incredibly inspiring cricketing career. He then talked about why he decided to coach India and the great things he was looking forward to experiencing with Virat Kohli and co. Gambhir said, “Looking at the kind of tours we’ve got, Champions Trophy, there is the T20 World Cup, then the 50 Over World Cup…” To which Virat Kohli nodded in confirmation as if to say “Yes”.

Gautam Gambhir’s inclusive tone and Virat Kohli’s affirmative nod points to one and only one thing. That YES, Virat Kohli might actually stay around and if possible in the Indian Squad long enough for the 2027 ODI World Cup to be played in South Africa 3 years down the line.

So what do you think? Will Virat Kohli be a part of the 2027 ODI World Cup in South Africa? Or will King Kohli retire before the crown jewel of Cricket? Let us know in the comments below.
