French Open 2024: Iga Świątek Marches Into Women’s Singles Finals

Iga Świątek extended her Roland Garros winning streak to 20 matches, positioning herself as a formidable contender for her fourth French Open title in five years. As the top seed, Świątek’s dominance in Paris continues, making her the first woman since Justine Henin (2007-2009) to win the French Open three consecutive times.

Świątek defeated third seed Coco Gauff 6-2, 6-4, further solidifying her quest for another French Open title. This victory not only advanced her to the final but also improved her record against Gauff to 11-1. It marked Świątek’s third consecutive triumph over the American in this clay court tournament, including wins in the 2022 final and last year’s quarter-final.

Paolini Awaits in the Final

Świątek, already a four-time Grand Slam champion, will face 12th seed Jasmine Paolini of Italy in Saturday’s final. Paolini earned her spot by defeating 17-year-old unseeded Mira Andreeva of Russia 6-3, 6-1 in the other semi-final.
