Red Bull Insider Exposes The Real Villain Of The 2021 F1 Season

Calum Nicholas, a Red Bull mechanic, stated that the animosity between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton stretched to both teams’ pit crews. In the 2021 season, the two best drivers in the sport faced off in an epic title struggle that began with race one. The fierce duel on the track produced numerous exhilarating and contentious events that fascinated and captured the attention of the motorsports world. 

However, the competition was not limited to on-track action, with Red Bull and Mercedes team principals joining in and often throwing shade at each other. On the Road To Success Podcast, Nicholas, the Senior Power Unit Assembly Technician for the Austrian team, discussed the rivalry and “annoying” occasions amongst crews. Max Verstappen created history at the Las Vegas Grand Prix on Sunday. Verstappen has become just the sixth Formula One driver to win four world championships. 

He joins former Red Bull racing driver Sebastian Vettel as the team’s four-time champion. The Dutch driver finished ahead of Lando Norris and won the championship. He defeated Norris by finishing sixth in the Las Vegas Grand Prix, clinching the world championship. On the other hand, Hamilton’s 12-year career at Mercedes came to an end. He finished fourth in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix after starting 16th. 

Bigger Battles Within Red Bull

The seven-time world champion will be 40 before he races for Ferrari next season. Elicited passion with his racing and remarks following a brilliant comeback drive that saw him pass teammate George Russell on the final lap. Lewis Hamilton claimed he was “at peace” with the conclusion of the 2021 title battle against Max Verstappen, but felt robbed. In an interview with GQ Magazine in April, the seven-time F1 world champion praised his father’s support. 

Hamilton said, “Was I robbed? Obviously. I mean, you know the story. But I think what was really beautiful in that moment, which I take away from it, was my dad was with me. And we’d gone through this huge roller coaster of life together, ups and downs. And the day that it hurt the most, he was there, and the way he raised me was to always stand up, and keep your head high.”
