Lewis Hamilton’s Qualifying Speed Is A Bluff

Scuderia Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur addressed Lewis Hamilton’s qualifying troubles for the 2024 Formula One season. Before Hamilton’s move to Maranello, the French manager stated that he was not concerned about his qualifying performance. Points are earned during the main race on Sunday. A former Formula One driver has threatened to fire him in the middle of the season at Ferrari.

The champion said goodbye to Mercedes after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Delaying his debut in red to pay tribute to the team. Hamilton’s final season with the squad was marred by the W15’s performance troubles. It frequently left the Brit unhappy and demotivated in 2024. The 39-year-old has also been chastised for his one-lap pace this year when teammate George Russell outpaced him 19 times in qualifying.

Lewis Hamilton himself questioned his speed in Qatar. Hamilton will face one of Ferrari’s fastest drivers over one lap, Charles Leclerc, who is expected to be a formidable opponent during his time with the team. While the seven-time champion should not be dismissed prematurely, as proved by his remarkable comeback in Abu Dhabi, some doubt he will be successful at Ferrari. In 2024, McLaren won the constructors championship.

Ferrari Doubts Hamilton’s Prowess

Lando Norris won the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, just edging the Italian team. The British driver holds the record for the most race victories and pole positions in F1. Despite disappointing results with Mercedes in recent years, Ferrari’s team principal has shown trust in Hamilton. Vasseur said, “First of all we are well placed to know that it’s on Sunday that you are scoring points.”

“We are probably the best in qualifying but we struggle in the race and have to keep the focus on the race. We have to keep the same momentum and the same approach for the next championship. Charles, Lewis, I am not particularly worried about this. They have a huge mutual respect, they know each other, and they have been talking about this for months now.”
