Former Pakistan captain Saeed Ahmed passed away

Former Pakistan cricket team captain Saeed Ahmed has passed away. He breathed his last in Lahore at the age of 86. Saeed Ahmed made his debut in international cricket in 1958. He scored 2991 runs in 41 Test matches played for Pakistan. Along with his batting, Ahmed was a useful bowler, who claimed 22 wickets for his country.

While playing for the Pakistan team, Saeed Ahmed’s performance as an all-rounder was outstanding. He played 41 Test matches for Pakistan and his powerful performances led the team to memorable victories in many matches.

Saeed Ahmed made his international debut in 1958 against West Indies. He has scored 2991 runs and taken 22 wickets in 41 Test matches. Saeed Ahmed played his last match in 1973.

Saeed Ahmed was given the command of the Pakistan team in 1969. Midway through the England tour, Saeed Ahmed was given the captaincy of Pakistan in place of Hanif Mohammad. However, Saeed Ahmed did not get much chance to show his talent as a captain and managed to lead the team in only three matches.

Saeed Ahmed made his debut in international cricket at the age of just 20. In the first match, Saeed Ahmed shared a partnership of 154 runs with Hanif Mohammad for the third wicket. In this match, Saeed Ahmed scored a brilliant knock of 65 runs. However, the result of the match remained a draw. Saeed Ahmed made his mark in international cricket very quickly due to his powerful batting. Saeed Ahmed ended his career with a batting average of 40.01.
