Vini Jr’s Injury A Blessing In Disguise For Kylian Mbappe

Real Madrid is finally getting out of the trenches this season. But still, they had to pay a big cost as Vinicius Jr joined the long list of injured players at Real Madrid. Los Blancos closed down the gap between them and arch-rivals FC Barcelona to just 4 points (with a game in hand) as they beat Leganes with a scoreline of 3-0 away from home. What’s more important is that it wasn’t another Vini Jr masterclass alone or a close victory. But rather it was a team effort with assists from Vini and Arda Guler while the 3 goals came from Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham and Fede Valverde.

This brings forth a very important question. With Vinicius Jr out injured for 3 weeks according to the reports across the internet, who will take up the mantle of being the Talisman at Real Madrid? Well, it shall be the one they bought this summer as their marquee signing, Kylian Mbappe. The French forward has had a very turbulent start to the season where he was seemingly struggling to find the back of the net. The main problem was very evident, which was the fact that the on-field chemistry with Vinicius Jr was not right. Moreover, both these eccentric players preferred to play on the Left Wing primarily. But sadly for Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr being the best winger on the planet, he hasn’t yet played there for Madrid.

Kylian Mbappe Needs To Step Up: Now Or Never

With the Los Blancos no. 7 injured, Kylian Mbappe has the perfect opportunity to take over his preferred position and show the world why he is amongst the best players in the world. Furthermore, the kind of matches Real Madrid will be playing in the coming days are a set of very tough fixtures with most of them being played away from home.

First up are Liverpool at Anfield in the Champions League. The Reds under their new manager Arne Slot have been in blistering form this season and especially the Egyptian King, Mo Salah is on a different level. After a tough UCL fixture, Real Madrid will take on Getafe at home before playing Athletic Club, Girona in the league and then Atalanta in the UCL all away from home.

With Vini Jr set to miss all these fixtures, it’s time for Kylian Mbappe to step up for Los Merengues. For the number 9, it’s now or never. Do you think Mbappe will prove his haters wrong in the coming days? Let us know your opinion in the comments below.
