Manchester City have been one of the most formidable sides in club football. The Sky Blues are the defending champions of the English Premier League. They have always been the side picking up the pace in the later part of the season. Pep Guardiola’s side are one of the strongest team on paper. Irrespective of that they failed in the UEFA Champions League last season.
Though they do not need any kind of signings. However, they have shown their interest in Cyrstal Palace winger Eberechi Eze. The English attacking midfielder showed an amazing display of football in the last season. Eze has three years left on his contract at Palace and a release clause of £60m plus add-ons. The Eagles will not let him go less than this at any cost. They have already lost their one-star Michael Olise to Bayern Munich.
His versatility and performance under pressure have impressed the Spanish manager. The English footballer can play in different positions which makes him different from the others. He scored 11 times and provided four assists in the 2023/24 season. City will be hoping to add him as backup for the upcoming seasons considering the age of Kevin de Bruyne.
Eberechi Eze will be the next star for City
Will he turn out to be a gamble for the side? The question will be answered once the transfer is done and he takes on the field for the club. But do the Sky Blues need a left winger? They have Phil Foden playing in the position however, the winger has been more efficient in the No.10 role for the side.
Bringing in Eze will also stack up a similar position as he can play in the No.10 role as well. Though the side needs a right winger. Since the departure of Riyad Mahrez, they do not have an out-and-out winger. It has been fulfilled by Bernardo Silva. However, he also loves to cut back in the No.10 position and deliver the balls to the striker. The 26-year-old would love to join a big club and prove himself. As the transfer window is still open there will be some actions taken about the winger.
