Drama alert! It looks like two divas of Bollywood have taken their gloves off for a star-studded skirmish! If you are not isolated, you’ll probably know that Alia Bhatt’s movie “Jigra” just released this Friday, and trust me the box-office charts don’t look good. Jigra opened up with far less than we were expecting and Mrs.T-series didn’t miss the opportunity to slam Alia Bhatt regarding the collection of Jigra. Well, she didn’t just point out the disappointing box-office collection, Divya Khosla accused Alia Bhatt of manipulating the box-office collection charts.
Divya Khosla alleged that Alia Bhatt falsely bought tickets for her movie “Jigra” to show a fake collection at the box office. She posted a story on her Instagram account, which said, “Went to Citi Mall PVR for Jigra show. Theatre was totally empty … all theaters going empty everywhere. #Aliabhatt me sach mein Bahut #Jigra hai.. khud hi tickets karide aur fake collections announce kar diye. Wonder why paid media is silent. #weshdnotfooltheaudience #truthoverlies #HappyDussehra.” Now, Divya Khosla herself doesn’t seem to be all in the right here, netizens speculated that the pic of a theatre posted by Divya Khosla seems edited and fake. Many social media users got furious calling out Divya Khosla for her hypocrisy.
In the past there have been no possible disputes between Divya Khosla and Alia Bhatt, so why start a controversy now? One possible explanation for this beef might be the fact that Jigra was in direct competition with “Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video”, as they both released on the same day. The movie, “Vicky Vidya Ka Who Wala Video” is produced by T-Series. Divya Khosla, who’s also married to the married director of T-Series, might have this reason to go after Alia Bhatt’s movie “Jigra”. However, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video earned more at the box office than Alia Bhatt’s Jigra. Jigra marked Alia Bhatt’s lowest opening since 2014’s Highway, which was her second movie in Bollywood.
Fueds like this happen every now at then between celebrities, especially an actor like Kangana Ranaut, who speaks enough for both sides of the story. But starting a controversy just for some limelight and media footage with no proven facts shouldn’t be justified with some hashtags in the Instagram story. As someone who’s been following the career of Alia Bhatt since the beginning, I know the fact that she has never engaged in any controversy. This is why Divya Khosla, shouldn’t clash with anyone who’s crashing the box office with the same movie her husband’s company produced.
Comment down who’s side are you on, in this starlets clash.
