Dinesh Karthik, who batted brilliantly against the defending champion Chennai Super Kings in the opening match of the IPL, has signalled his retirement from the IPL tournament.
Against the CSK team, Dinesh Karthik saved the team’s innings by making a partnership of 95 runs with Anuj Rawat. However, Chennai, under the leadership of Rituraj Gaikwad, won the match by six wickets and gave a victorious opening. Dinesh Karthik scored 38 runs off 26 balls in this match. He hit three fours and two sixes in it.
Did he play the last match at Chepauk? In response to this question, Dinesh Karthik said, ‘I hope to return to Chepauk to play in the playoffs. But if it doesn’t happen, it will be my last IPL match at this ground.’
If Royal Challengers Bangalore doesn’t make it to the playoffs, I won’t get a chance to play in Chepauk after this. But if the RCB team reaches the playoffs, I will be seen playing at the Chepauk ground, said Dinesh Karthik.
