The Indian Wrestling Association’s committee has selected Prof. Dinesh Gund to represent the country as a technical officer at the World Wrestling Championship, a crucial event leading up to the Paris Olympics. The championship is scheduled to take place in Zagreb, Croatia, from January 9 to 14.

Prof. Dinesh Gund holds the esteemed title of being a World Wrestling Federation First Class Referee, and this marks his 57th appearance as a technical officer in international wrestling tournaments.

Over the course of his career, he has served in various capacities in Asian, World, World Cup, and Olympic qualification tournaments, underlining his wealth of experience.

Notably, Prof. Gund stands as the lone technical officer from Maharashtra who has contributed to over 100 national competitions and participated in 57 international events.

His extensive involvement in both national and international arenas showcases not only his dedication but also the recognition he has garnered within the wrestling community.

In a significant move, Prof. Dinesh Gund is appointed by Indian Wrestling Association for vital competition in Zagreb. Some argue that the selection process for officials in sporting events lacks transparency, impacting the integrity of competitions.
