Delhi Capitals have once again made Rishabh Pant the captain of the team in place of Australia’s dashing batsman David Warner. Rishabh Pant is holding the captaincy of the Delhi Capitals team from 2021 onwards. But in 2022, Rishabh Pant met with a car accident while travelling from Delhi to Roorkee. After this incident, Rishabh Pant could not play in the IPL 2023 season. David Warner replaced him. In such a situation, Rishabh Pant will be seen making a comeback as a captain in IPL.
In a press release, Delhi Capitals chairman and co-owner Parth Jindal said, “We are delighted to welcome Rishabh as captain. Patience and fearlessness have always been important in his cricket. We look forward to the new season with renewed vigor and enthusiasm and I can’t wait to see him once again leading our team on the field. Earlier, the BCCI had approved Pant to play as a wicket-keeper batsman in this year’s IPL.
Rishabh Pant has been declared fit as a wicket-keeper batsman for the upcoming IPL after a 14-month rehabilitation process following an accident near Roorkee, Uttarakhand on 30 December 2022, the board said in a medical update.
