Cricket’s Ugly Side Exposed Fan Taken To Hospital

India vs Bangladesh 2nd Test Day 1 has been called an early stumps due to rain stopping the play. The Green Park Stadium, Kanpur was overcast from the morning there was a delay of an hour to start the test match. The home side won the toss and elected to field in an overcast condition. They picked up three wickets with 107 runs on board for the visitors. 

Despite early struggles the Bangladeshi batters survived and played shots whenever required. Akash Deep picked two wickets and Ravichandran Ashwin picked one wicket. Rohit Sharma’s side are already leading the series 1-0. They handed a 280-run defeat to the Bangla Tigers at Chennai Test. After the 2nd Test Day 1 was called up, there was an unexpected event that occurred inside the ground. Some Indian fans have allegedly beaten the Bangladesh team’s super fan Tiger Roby. 

The super fan has been immediately taken to the hospital for treatment. The reason for the as to what led to such a fight between local fans and Roby. However, there are reports that he was caught abusing Mohammed Siraj. But the UP police have refuted Robi’s claim, saying he collapsed because of dehydration and wasn’t assaulted by anyone.

India’s neighbouring fans are not safe

Such incidents should not happen in a cricketing field. English fans are known to be very harsh and rough. Previously there were fights between the crowd that used to take place outside the ground, especially over the years the English fans are known for the ignition of such instances. Indian fans are very welcoming to their supporters and this might be one of the incidents that have taken place. 

According to Bangladesh super fan Robi’s statement to Indian Express, the incident happened just before the lunch break. He said, “A section of the crowd has been abusing me since the morning. Once lunch was called I just started shouting the names of Najmul Shanto and Mominul Haque. A few of them started shoving me around, tried to tear my mascot (Tiger) and my flag, and when I resisted they started hitting me”.
