People Who Live In Glass Houses Should Not Throw Stones, ft. Sam Konstas

On Friday, Australia batter Sam Konstas got into a heated argument with India’s stand-in captain Jasprit Bumrah on Day 1 of the 5th Test match in Sydney. The No.1 Test Bowler was not pleased with Usman Khawaja’s additional time to take his guard. However, Konstas chose to face Bumrah. The incident only stirred Bumrah up. He dismissed Khawaja on the final ball of the day’s play before colliding with Konstas, who was at the non-striker’s end.

Australia’s coach, Andrew McDonald, has accused India of attempting to intimidate Sam Konstas by celebrating Usman Khawaja’s wicket late on the opening day at the SCG. McDonald spoke with Konstas after the incident to ensure that the 19-year-old was not disturbed by India’s response to him. The tensions between Bumrah and Konstas date back to the MCG Test. After the inexperienced Australian opener used aggressive tactics against the Indian pacer.

However, Bumrah had the last laugh after he removed Konstas in the second innings. India’s bowling attack continued to dominate. Dismissing Australia for 181 in the first innings, taking a lead by four runs. Mohammed Siraj played an important contribution, taking Konstas’ wicket for 23 runs. Prasidh Krishna also took three wickets, with Bumrah and Nitish Kumar Reddy taking two each.

Australia’s Long History of Sledging Ignored

The Border Gavaskar Trophy over the years has been heated up, with some massive controversial incidents. Australians have always been the cunning sledgers of the game. And when it comes back to haunt them from the opposition, they speak about morality. Over the years they have been aggressive on and off the field. The WTC champions cannot take it back and lose their cool out. Sam Konstas is the latest addition to that.

The saying “people who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones” is a proverb that means people should not criticize others for faults that they also have. It is a reminder that it is hypocritical to judge someone for something you are also guilty of. The Kangaroos need to learn and not talk about the spirit of cricket always when it does not go their way.
