Chirag Shetty, Satwiksairaj French Open Champions

India’s top badminton pair Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy won the French Open doubles title. Chirag and Satwiksairaj have won the French Open badminton tournament for the second time.

Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy continued their impressive form and sealed the title by defeating Chinese Taipei’s Li Ze Hui and Yang Po Huan in the final.

The world number one Indian pair had earlier won the French Open title in 2022. This pair was the runner-up in the French Open in 2019. The pair of Asian Games champions Satwik and Chirag defeated Lee and Yang 21-11, 21-17 in a 37-minute final to clinch their first title of the season. The Indian pair finished second in the Malaysia Super 1000 and India Super 750 this year, while also finishing as runners-up in the China Masters Super 750 last year.

The Indian duo of Chirag and Satwik have been in excellent form this year. The pair reached the final for the third time in a row. In the semifinals, Satwik and Chirag defeated the world champion Korean duo 21-13, 21-16.

Satwik and Chirag continued to dominate the match from the start. Both had lost to the Korean duo at the India Open, which was avenged at the French Open. After easily winning the first game against the reigning world champion duo, Satwik and Chirag did not give the Korean pair a chance to make a comeback in the second game as well. The Indian pair won the match in just 40 minutes.
