D Gukesh, the youngest World Champion in the game’s history. He met with one of the country’s major business tycoons, Gautam Adani. Gukesh is the second Indian to win the World Chess Championship, succeeding five-time winner Viswanathan Anand, who lost to Magnus Carlsen of Norway in Chennai in 2013.
Carlsen abdicated the title in 2023, allowing Ding to defeat Ian Nepomniachtchi. Adani’s prophecy of Indian youngsters dominating chess has already begun. With extraordinary talents such as Vaishali Rameshbabu, who has been awarded the Grandmaster title by FIDE. Vaishali is the third Indian female Grandmaster after Koneru Humpy and Harika Dronavalli.
