Chess Grandmaster Vladmir Kramnik Has Officially Lost It

Vladmir Kramnik is a Russian Grandmaster who has seen the highest of highs the world of Chess has to offer. But sadly, ever since the 49-year-old stopped playing at a high level, it seems as if his mental state and behavioural patterns have been on a downhill. He has embarked on a mission to get rid of cheating from the Chess world, and well let’s just say that day by day he has become more and more delusional.

One of his latest antics involved accusing Team India at the recently concluded 45th FIDE Chess Olympiad 2024, where India won Gold in both, the Women’s and Open categories. But what happened yesterday trumps all of his previous “anti-cheating” antics out the window. Up until now, Vladmir Kramnik would always accuse teams and players of cheating but would never fully say it out loud in front of the camera or in any kind of interview.

That was until yesterday’s Title Tuesday event held by Chess.com, where Vladmir Kramnik did not hold back in actually calling his opponents cheaters on his X(fka Twitter) account. Playing against Women’s Grandmaster Sanyura just because she capitalized on some straightforward positions throughout the game to convert her losing position into a draw.

Anyone who understands the game of Chess can tell you, that Kramnik was actually ahead in the game until he messed up allowing Sanyura to draw the game. When Chess YouTubet and IM Levy Rozman pointed out Kramnik’s pointless antics on his YouTube video, the Russian GM actually rebutted him on X as well!

He even started the thread of tweets by saying, “Cheating tuesday, first game, first cheater 😁”. For a 3 time Classical World Chess Champion, to say things like these is actually quite absurd. He then proceeded to call out people replying to his tweets by calling them “usefull idiots”.

The irony of all of this is, that Kramnik was once banned on Chess.com for throwing accusations at Hans Niemann for cheating against him. If you think that’s all, it’s NOT. Hans Niemann was indeed later found cheating in as many as “more than 100” online games. And guess who Niemann considers his “life coach” and also his “chess coach”. Yup, you guessed it right! Vladmir Kramnik.

Here’s another one for you. Guess who were the 2 people who won the Title Tuesday event yesterday? Hans Niemann and Vladmir Kramnik! No wonder controversy, stupidity and accusations followed them yesterday.

Following his antics on Title Tuesday, Kramnik has now been handed a one-month suspension, replying to which he proceeded to accuse World no. 2 Hikaru Nakamura of cheating. Is it high time for someone to take action against Vladmir Kramnik? Or should he just be left to live in his own delusion?
