Carlos Alcaraz’s 200th Win Is A Proof of His Overhyped Tennis Supremacy

Carlos Alcaraz has been in amazing form. The reigning Wimbledon Champion has won back-to-back Grand Slams in two years. The Spaniard defeated Novak Djokovic in the last final of the Wimbledon. He has been participating in the China Open 2024 after his shocking exit from the US Open second round. However, the No.3 on Sunday qualified for the quarter-finals in Beijing. 

Alcaraz advanced to the China Open quarterfinals in just 56 minutes. The 21-year-old won in two straight sets, 6-1, 6-2 triumph over Tallon Griekspoor in the second round. After beating the Dutch professional he marked an achievement in the ATP tour game. This was the 200th win for the World No.3 player in the ATP Tour match. He struck four aces and converted five of seven break points. The youngster did not allow Griekspoor for once. 

Alcaraz also defeated him previously to achieve his 100th career win. In recent two years, he has been shining all over the place winning every possible grand slam. If he keeps his red-hot form going he will yet again win a silverware in the upcoming days. Alcaraz’s temperament has been a question in big games however he has been successful in recent times with his best of performances.

Alcaraz is better than Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic? Alcaraz has been unable to maintain his world number-one status this year, but the 21-year-old has had a phenomenal season, winning two major slams (the French Open and Wimbledon) and an Olympic medal. Among the 29 players who have reached the top of the global rankings. Alcaraz is the second fastest to win 200 matches.

He did so in his 252nd match, with just John McEnroe reaching the milestone earlier (245 matches). Rafael Nadal reached the milestone in 255 matches, Novak Djokovic in 274 (the same as Jannik Sinner), and Roger Federer in 302. The Spaniard will be looking to add more to his tally and become better than these above-mentioned tennis legends. However, he needs to work hard and showcase determination to keep up the red-hot form.
