Bramhapuri’s Dolly Gupta Clinches Bronze in State-Level Sub Junior Wrestling Competition

MUMBAI: Dolly Gupta, a talented female wrestler hailing from Bramhapuri and representing Shree Ganesh Akhara in Bhayander, secured a commendable bronze medal in the fiercely contested state-level sub-junior wrestling competition held in Chandrapur. The event, organized by the Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation and Mira Bhayander Kustigir Sangh, showcased Gupta’s exceptional skills in the challenging 53 kg weight category.

Gupta’s victory adds to the pride of Shree Ganesh Akhara, where Manisha Shelar also clinched a bronze medal in the 50 kg category. The arena witnessed another achievement as Komal Patel, competing in the 46 kg weight category, secured the runner-up position in the bronze medal match.

The trio’s success is credited to the guidance of mentors Vasantrao Patil, Vaibhav Mane, and Pai Komal Desai.

While individual achievements in wrestling are commendable, there is a growing need for broader recognition and support for women’s sports at various levels.
