Bengaluru FC (BFC) has been sensational in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024/25 season. They are still unbeaten in the top-tier league of Indian football. Gerard Zaragoza’s side has been looking good and threatening in the attack and well-marshalled in defense. They have just conceded one goal so far in the league. On Friday, the Blues defeated their arch-rivals Kerala Blasters at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Kochi.
This was a massive win away from home. The Blues completely dominated the Blasters at their home stadium. BFC opened the scoring with Jorge Pereyra Diaz scoring against his former side after the Argentine snatched the ball from KBFC, center-back Pritam Kotal. Next Edgar Mendez took his chance after goalkeeper Som Kumar spilled one cross inside the box. Jesus Jimenez pulled one back for the home side right ahead of halftime.
BFC and KBFC both had their chances in the second half but failed to convert. The Blues launched a rapid counterattack play in the fourth minute of added time in the second half, culminating in Mohamed Salah putting his belief in Mendez with an outside-of-the-box effort to score Bengaluru FC’s third goal of the night. The Spanish manager has changed the scenario of the side since taking on last season.
Bengaluru FC is just riding high for now
Can Bengaluru FC keep up their winning momentum going? In a long league of 24 matches, it is really difficult to win all the games in the competition. This will be a history if they can keep their unbeaten run going. The team has been playing as a unit and this showcases their determination and mentality to win games for the side and fight till the end.
BFC will face FC Goa in their next game. The Gaurs are in horrible form in the season, they have dropped crucial points at their home and have been looking very fragile in defense. With the attacking quality of the Blues, they will surely exploit the spaces and make their unbeaten run to 7 games in the top-tier league.
