BCCI Secretary Jai Shah and President Roger Binny handed over a check of Rs 125 crore to the Indian team in a ceremony held at the Wankhede Stadium. BCCI’s prize money of Rs 125 crore has become a topic of discussion. 125 crore rupees will be distributed among the 15 players of the Indian team, four reserve players, and a support staff of 15 people.
Chief coach Rahul Dravid, Vikram Rathod, Paras Mhambre, T. Dilip, throwdown specialist, three physios, one coach, one management, logistics manager, video audio analyst, etc. The 15 players in the Indian team are expected to receive a prize money of Rs 5 crore each. BCCI’s monetary evolution
In 1983, under the leadership of Kapil Dev, the Indian cricket team created a revolution in Indian cricket. They won the World Cup for the first time. At that time, the players of the Indian team were given Rs 1 Lakh each. A concert was also organized featuring famous singer Lata Mangeshkar.
In 2007, under the leadership of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the Indian team won the T20 World Cup for the first time. At that time, BCCI had paid Rs 10 crore to the Indian team. Yuvraj Singh, who hit six sixes in one over, was given Rs 1 crore separately. At that time also a procession was taken from Marine Drive to Wankhede Stadium.
Then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh met the players and congratulated them. In 2011, the Indian team won the ODI World Cup for the second time. After 28 years, the Indian team once again became the world champion. They paid an amount of 39 crores to Dhoni’s team in 2011 as each player got Rs 2 crore.
This shows the revolution of Indian cricket since the 1983 World Cup win. But as cricket develops in the country there are other sports as well that need funds too and the private board should allocate some of the funds towards the other sports in order for the development as well.
