Bayern Munich Robbed by Refereeing Blunder

Bayern Munich were robbed against Real Madrid. The Bavarians were left befuddled by the referee’s calls. Despite Real dominating the game, Bayern got their noses in front after a fantastic effort from Alphonso Davies. But as always, Real Madrid came back. Former Stoke City man Joselu scored first after a shot from Vini Jr was spilled by the great Manuel Neuer. Joselu scored once again just moments later to seal the comeback for the Champions of Spain. But the game wasn’t over yet. Bayern desperately tried to equalise. Joshua Kimmich’s long ball was reached by Thomas Muller who head it to Matthijs De Ligt, who put it in the back of the neck. However, the goal was disallowed because of an offside call by the assistant linesman before the ball went in, thus ruling out a VAR check.

Tuchel’s Fury Reflects Bayern’s Frustration

The Bayern staff was livid. Thomas Tuchel’s reaction was aggressive and animated and rightly so. After the game, he told reporters that the decision was an absolute disaster. He called the decision a betrayal by the referees. The call by Szymon Marciniak was indeed controversial. No referee should blow the whistle before the play has ended. It was a rookie mistake by a veteran referee, who’s often acclaimed as the best in the world. Bayern fans were left dismayed after the game and felt cheated by the officials. Calls going in Real ‘s favor in high profile matches has become all too common by now.
