Barcelona Fans Whine Like Babies After Madrid Loss

If you are from Spain, make sure to spend the next few days at home. There will be a heavy downpour of tears originating from Barcelona. The Catalans crashed out of the La Liga title race after their loss to their eternal rivals, Real Madrid and since then, they haven’t stopped crying. They’ve blamed pretty much everyone now. The referee is in for a few long days. Barcelona fans will be cursing him in droves in the comment section of every report of the game. If only they would have focused on supporting their club instead of criticizing everyone else, they may have passed Girona as the best club in Catalonia.

Barcelona Bled Dry By Madrid’s Pace

Barcelona actually played quite well. Lamine Yamal cooked Eduardo Camavinga and was the MOTM. They were bringing the game to Madrid and this earned them the first goal in the game. However, Joao Cancelo and Robert Lewandowski did their best to undo the good work of their teammates. Cancelo was absolutely dreadful. ‘The Best fullback in the world’ couldn’t even get past Lucas Vazquez. Barcelona were unable to keep up with Real Madrid’s pace on the counter and this cost them.

Dicey Decisions

One moment in the game was particularly pivotal. Yamine Lamal appeared to have flicked it into the goal after a corner from Raphinha. After a few minutes of checking if the ball went in or if it was saved at the line by Lunin, the goal wasn’t given. Now according to most fans and even a few pundits, the ball went past the line. This was extremely hard for the referee to determine since La Liga doesn’t have goal line technology. The Match Official had to rely on unreliable camera angles. There were several other questionable decisions in the game, including a handball by Luka Modric and a scuffle between Vini Jr and Jules Kounde.

Lack Of Accountability

Barcelona fans are furious. They firmly believe that the league has been bought by Madrid. They are outraged by the amount of calls going against them. However, the issue goes much deeper than that. Fans of the Blaugrana are using the bad decisions as a Copium for their mentality issues. In recent history, the Catalan club have bottled games more than one time, more recently in their ucl draw against PSG. Rather than blaming the referee for defeat. They must focus on their team’s performance, which has been mediocre at best on most occasions. It’s tiring at this point. Every team Barcelona loses, their fans go on a tirade against referees and other factors. This happens even when the decisions are fair and clear for most rational people to see.

Tough Times Ahead

It’s another average season for Barca. This loss seals their fate in La Liga. They’ve already crashed out of all the cup competitions and Europe. After last season’s title win, this season is another failure. They’re going to go trophyless in all competitions. Their squad is aging. Their manager is leaving at the end of the season. There is a huge reboot on the way for the Catalonians. In these testing times, Barcelona fans will have to stand behind their team. This doesn’t mean blind support or herd mentality. It also entails the ability to hold your team and its performance accountable. Barcelona are in for a tough time in the next few seasons. Especially when a certain Frenchman makes his way to Madrid next year.
