Baner to Host a Seminar for Athletes on Olympic Day

Inauguration of the Sports Wing of Brahma Kumaris and a seminar for sportspersons has been organized in Baner, Pune on Sunday, 23rd June, on the occasion of International Olympic Day, which is observed annually to commemorate the founding of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

Athletes will get a chance to hear the thoughts of India’s first Para Olympic Gold medalists Muralidhar Petkar, BK Ritu Thakkar, and BK Dutta at a ceremony in Baner on the occasion of International Olympic Day. A seminar on Raja Yoga meditation and positive thinking for mental strength will be held for athletes at Brahma Kumaris Seva Kendra, Baner from 9 am to 12 am.

Senior Olympian Balakrishna Akotkar, Deputy Director of Government Sports Department Sanjay Sabnis, Suhas Patil, Sports Wing BK Jagbir, BK Aditi, BK Jayashree, Ajit Baboo Nimal etc. will be present as Chief Guests in the International Olympic Day ceremony. More than 250 players from Pune have confirmed their participation in this event. National and international medal winners along with sportsmen of Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex will participate in this.

For the first time ever, a free meditation and motivational counselling centre for athletes is being inaugurated in Pune on the occasion of Olympic Day. It will be inaugurated by Olympic Gold medalist Muralidhar Petkar, Joint Director of Sports Department, Govt. Sudhir More.

Triveni Didi, head of Brahma Kumaris Baner Seva Kendra has informed that the Olympic Gold medal in Field Hockey won by Baboo Nimal of Pune in the 1936 Berlin Olympics will be worshipped at the beginning of the ceremony.

The seminar presents athletes in and around Pune with a golden opportunity to meet with like-minded people and take away some important teaches from those who will present at the event.
