Aryaveer Patil, Saloni Salunkhe, Ayush Punde, Anisha Kale, and Yatharth Sangrame won the title. They won the top rank in their respective groups in the sub-junior and junior state-level swimming selection test competition. It was organized by the Swimming Federation of India and Maharashtra Swimming Selection Committee.
Pune’s Anisha Kale won the title in the 50m butterfly event. It was started at Tilak Lake in Pune with a time of 00.34.53 seconds in the girls under 11 category. Whereas, Pune’s Saloni Salunke (00.35.58 sec.) and Mumbai’s Avantika Desai (00.36.06 sec.) won second and third place respectively. Ayush Punde won the gold medal in the 100m breaststroke in the under-14 boys category with a time of 01.16.67 seconds.
Saloni Salunke wins gold in freestyle
Pune’s Aryaveer Patil (01.09.06 sec) won the Under-17 boys’ 100m breaststroke title. Saloni Salunke (02.35.09 sec) won the 200m freestyle in the girls’ under-11 category. Thane’s Ryan Syed (00.33.04s) won the Under-11 boys category in the 50m butterfly event. So, Gondia’s Reshita Sangrame (00.33.15s) was second and Mumbai’s Ahan Dave (00.34.53s) came as third.
On this occasion, the prize distribution of the competition was done by Sudhakar Shanbaug, Chairman of Maharashtra Swimming Association, Rajendra Palkar, Coordinator of SFI and Secretary of Maharashtra Swimming Association, and Jai Apte, member of SFI and Dr. Tapan Panigrahi, Dronacharya awardee.
