Archery World Cup: Indian Compound Women’s Team Wins Gold

The inaugural phase of the Archery World Cup witnessed stellar performances from both the Indian men’s and women’s compound teams, as they clinched gold medals with remarkable displays of skill and precision.

In the women’s compound team event, the Indian trio comprising Jyoti Surekha Vennam, Aditi Swamy, and Praneet Kaur delivered an outstanding performance, overwhelming their opponents from Italy. Displaying remarkable accuracy, the Indian team conceded just four points in 24 arrows, securing victory over the sixth-seeded Italian team by a significant margin.

Meanwhile, in the men’s compound team event, the Indian contingent comprising Abhishek Verma, Priyansh, and Prathamesh F showcased their prowess on the archery field by triumphing over the Netherlands team. The Netherlands team, comprised of Mike Schlosser, Sil Peters, and Steph Willems, proved to be formidable opponents. Despite a strong start from the Indian team, scoring exactly 10 points twice in the first set, the competition remained fierce.

However, the Indian men’s team maintained their composure and consistency, losing only two points in the subsequent two sets. In a display of precision and skill, they clinched victory in the final set with flawless performances, securing the gold medal impressively.
