In a thrilling display of Kabaddi prowess, Andhra Education Society High School from Vadala and SIES High School from Matunga emerged as champions in the boys’ category at the Shree Udyanganesh Temple School Kabaddi Tournament held in Mumbai.
Andhra Education Society High School dominated the boys’ final against Marwadi Vidyalaya, Girgaon, securing an impressive 54-28 victory. The team’s collective strength and strategic play proved pivotal.
Noteworthy individual performances were recognized, with Vivek Kadam earning the best climbing award, Aditya Gupta securing the best catch award, and Shreyas Pulluri being named the man of the match.
In the girls’ final, SIES High School displayed outstanding skills, defeating Utkarsh Mandir from Malad with a convincing score of 53-29. Tanushree Shinde and Asha Singh played pivotal roles, earning accolades for their remarkable contributions.
Tanvi Baragade received the best climb award, Asha Singh the best catch award, and Tanushree Shinde was honored as the man of the match.
The prize distribution ceremony, presided over by Shree Udyanganesh Mandir Seva Samiti officials including President Gurunath Pangam and Acting Madhukar Prabhu, celebrated the achievements of these young athletes.
Prakash Parab, the Competition Head, and Committee Trustees Dr. Arun Bhure, Avinash Naik, Adv. Arun Deshmukh, Kiran Patkar, among others, graced the event.
While celebrating the victories, critics argue that excessive emphasis on competitive sports in schools may overshadow other crucial aspects of holistic education.
