In the world of glamour and stolen opportunities, you’ll find yourself in a bit of a puzzle if you don’t belong to a Bollywood background. Bollywood has few labels which are truly devisive such as the term “starkid”. This term has been used more than the number of actors there are in Bollywood. The term “starkid” evokes the image of actors who got an easy way to opportunities in Bollywood compared to outsiders.
Ananya Panday who’s also a nepotism product recently spoke on the issue of being called as Starkid as an insult. Ananya Panday, the daughter of Chunky Panday has been criticised since the beginning of her career. The actress was immensely trolled for every product linked to Kjo’s production. Recently in an interview Ananya Panday- the Starkid spoke on how she has been criticized for her family background and how people perceive Starkid as an insult. The actress said, said, “People have made it (star kid) a bad word. And I don’t think it’s a bad word. People have made you aware. When you’re watching something on screen, you’re like, ‘Arey, ye iski beti hai (Oh, she’s this star’s daughter).’ It doesn’t need to be like that. People should just go in and think what they have to. And they do think what they have to. But I think it’s just become very divided, like ye insider hai, ye outsider (this one’s an insider, that one an outsider). The industry has given us so much. The audience has given us all so much. There are people from a film family who are thriving, and there are people who are not from the film family thriving even more,” said Ananya.
She took Shahrukh Khan as an example of an actor who thrived more than anything in the industry. “The biggest star in our country. He’s not from a film family. So I think it’s more about the person,”. Ananya Panday is also a childhood friend of Shahrukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan.
