After Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, India’s star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has announced his retirement from T20 international cricket.
Jadeja shared this news via an Instagram post, stating that while he will no longer play T20Is, he will continue to represent India in other formats. This announcement came after India defeated South Africa by seven runs to win the T20 World Cup.
In his Instagram post, Ravindra Jadeja wrote, “From the bottom of my heart, I say goodbye to T20 internationals. I have always given my best for my country and will continue to do so in other formats as well. Winning the T20 World Cup was a dream come true in my T20 international career. Thanks for the memories, enthusiasm, and immense support.”
Jadeja’s performance in the T20 World Cup held in the USA and West Indies was disappointing. He played eight matches in the tournament, scoring only 35 runs and taking just one wicket.
Ravindra Jadeja’s T20 International Career
Jadeja debuted for India in 2009 and played a total of 74 T20Is, scoring 515 runs at a strike rate of 127.16 and taking 54 wickets. He represented India in the T20 World Cup from 2009 to 2024, playing 30 matches, scoring 130 runs, and taking 22 wickets. Additionally, he played six matches in the Asia Cup, scoring 35 runs in two innings and taking four wickets.
