Aljamain Sterling Says The UFC Will Regret Disrespecting Him

Would you believe that Aljamain Sterling, a former UFC Bantamweight Champ has been made to fight on the Preliminary Card at UFC 310? Well, that is exactly what has happened. Not long ago, up until August 2023 to be exact, ‘The Funk Master’ was the Bantamweight Champion of the UFC. Since then he lost his belt to Sean O’Malley and went on to win against Calvin Kattar impressively. Aljo now finds himself head-to-head against Movsar Evloev.

The Russian is an undefeated Mixed Martial Artist with a professional record of 18-0. He has an unbeaten streak in the UFC of 8-0 since joining the promotion. Surely a fight between an undefeated fighter and a Former Division Champ deserves more hype. Well, that’s exactly what every UFC fan thought about when they saw that Sterling vs Evloev won’t be featuring on the Main Card at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada come December 7.

With both fighters very close to the top of the crop in the Bantamweight division, it doesn’t make sense to put this fight on the Preliminary card. If anything it’s a massive disrespect to the legacy of Aljamain Sterling. It’s almost as if UFC has pre-decided that Aljo, someone who has repeatedly been the headliner in so many UFC events in the past, will no longer be near the Bantamweight Championship. If anything this will Aljamain Sterling to do better and prove the MMA promotion wrong.

“I’m a Main Card Fighter”- Aljamain Sterling

The Social Media handle of Championship Rounds posted a video of Aljamain Sterling talking about the whole situation on X.

Aljo stated, “I didn’t know if I should have been insulted by the placement on the fight card. Or glass half full and guess that’s the best way I try to look at everything in life and was a little confused by it of course. I guess they have their reason for what they do with the UFC brass. I think people are gonna be in for a very big surprise. And the UFC is gonna realize we messed up big time by not putting this on the main card.”

Do you think the UFC will rue their decision to not boon Aljamain Sterling vs Movsar Evloev on the main card for UFC 310 on Saturday Night? Let us know your opinion in the comments below.
