India won their 3rd medal in the ongoing Paris Olympics 2024 on Thursday. Maharashtra shooter Swapnil Kusale won a bronze medal for the country in the 50m rifle three-position category in the Paris Olympics. All three medals so far for the nation have come in the shooting itself. After the historic win, Deputy Chief Minister and President of Maharashtra Olympic Association Ajit Pawar has congratulated him.
Ajit Pawar congratulated him saying that this son of the soil of Kolhapur has increased the glory of Maharashtra and has given new vitality and energy to the sports field of the state. He also said that the happiness of the individual medal won by a Maharashtrian athlete after 72 years of wrestler Khashaba Jadhav is indescribable. He also said he has won a bronze medal by scoring 451.4 points in the ongoing multinational event in, France.
The state along with the nation is proud that Swapnil from Kambalwadi village near Kolhapur won India’s third medal. Over the years he has been a successful shooter for the state. He was first selected for Sports Prabodhini when he was in Class VII. The shooter continued his training at Bhonsala Military School. He also expressed the feeling that he has made Maharashtra proud at the international level.
Swapnil has made his 12 year dream come true
After achieving a historic performance due to his great will, determination, perseverance, and training in Sports Prabodhini. He made his debut for India back in 2012 in international competitions. After a long wait of almost 12 years, he has made his Olympic debut with a remarkable performance.
The people of Maharashtra are proud of Swapnil Kusale, who has earned the respect of the country with his unparalleled performance. Swapnil had earlier won the team gold medal at the Asian Games in 2022 after a spectacular performance by reaching the finals of the Olympic event.
