Abhyankar Girls School Clinches Bronze in State School Hockey; Prachi Panchore Shines Bright

In a remarkable display of skill and determination, the girls’ hockey team from Abhyankar Kanya School in Yavatmal secured the third position in the highly competitive state-level school hockey tournament held at Pune. The Balewadi Sports Complex witnessed intense competition, and the Abhyankar Kanya School team emerged victorious, earning a well-deserved bronze medal.

The under-17 girls’ category showcased the prowess of the Yavatmal team, who had previously earned a bronze medal in the Nehru Cup state-level hockey tournament. The Pune District Sports Officer, Mahadev Kasgawde, honored the team for their outstanding performance.

The journey to success included a decisive victory over the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar division, propelling the team to the third-place match against Pune Division. In a nail-biting encounter, the Yavatmal team secured the bronze medal by defeating Pune Division with a scoreline of 2-1. Notably, Prachi Panchore from the victorious team earned a spot in the Maharashtra Hockey Team for the upcoming National Hockey Tournament, showcasing the promising talent nurtured by Abhyankar Kanya School.

The roster included Dolly Masram, Samiksha Waghmare, Gunjan Baviskar, Kishori Kathole, Khushi Savkar, Pragati Bhandekar, Prachi Pansare, Khushi Mahalkar, Vaishnavi Pandhare, Gauri Duratkar, Gayatri Bagdkar, Falguni Pillare, Purva Dupare, Dimple Jadhav, Samriddhi Mangulkar, Shashwati Mangulkar, Anushka Wabhitkar, and Kajal Waghmare.
