In a thrilling display of skill, Mihika Pathak, Shaurya Rolle, and Soyra Shelar secured victories at the Amanora-PYC HTBA Cup District Ranking Badminton Championship organized by Haveli Taluka Badminton Association.

Mihika dominated her match against Aditi Giri with a 21-10, 22-20, 21-17 victory, while Shaurya outplayed Veera Panse with scores of 21-12, 21-10 in the Under-15 girls’ singles opener. Soyra showcased her prowess by defeating Rema Ghag 21-5, 21-6. The tournament, held at PYC Hindu Gymkhana, saw fierce competition.

The first round of men’s singles witnessed intense battles, with Parth Deshpande, Vipool Anvekar, Shaunak Kulkarni, Jayant Kulkarni, Pranav Gawde, and Atharva Khisti emerging victorious.

In the younger age categories, notable performances included Avadhoot Kadam, Rigved Bhosale, and Tanishk Ade securing wins in the Under-17 division. Meanwhile, in the Girls under 13 years category, Jeevika Patil and Sharvi Kulkarni exhibited impressive skills.

Some argue that intense competition at a young age might hinder overall player development, emphasizing the need for a balanced approach.
