Khabib Nurmagomedov’s Star Power Did Not Work Against Him

In a humiliating episode, Khabib Nurmagomedov, a member of the UFC Hall of Fame. He was taken off a flight with his colleagues in the United States, supposedly because of his bad English. He got into a fight with airline employees at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas. It led to the incident. Other passengers on the plane captured the incident on camera.  The humiliating video of the former UFC went viral. 

Khabib was hauled off the Alaska Airlines flight headed for Los Angeles. As a result of the altercation, which took place on Saturday, January 11. Khabib’s seat in the emergency exit row of the aircraft was the source of the argument. The 36-year-old was asked by airline employees if he was ready or capable of helping other travellers in the event of an emergency, which is a requirement for people in the escape rows.

In the video, a flight attendant can be seen informing Khabib Nurmagomedov, “We cannot allow you to sit in the exit row. I am not going to do this back and forth. I’ll go call a supervisor. You can either take a different seat or we can go ahead and escort you off the plane. Khabib responded, calling the situation ‘not fair’ and explaining that he had complied with the flight crew during the boarding process.”

Khabib Nurmagomedov’s Latest Controversy

He added, “When I was in check-in, they asked me, ‘Do I know English?’ and I said yes. Then why do you guys do this? The manager of the flight attendant was brought in and repeatedly offered Khabib a different seat or the chance to take a different trip in spite of his complaints. Khabib and his fellow travellers were eventually led from the plane.” 

As seen in the footage, Khabib Nurmagomedov gets up and walks out of the plane in shame.  His friends can be seen rising, removing their bags from the overhead bin, and descending the aircraft. Khabib is thought to have been travelling to California to cheer on his colleagues before the UFC 311 event in Los Angeles when the incident happened. The date of the event is set for January 18.
