Gautam Gambhir Is Blatantly Lying To ICT Fans

The Indian Test Cricket Team are going through what is easily their worst phase in a long long time. It won’t be a stretch to say that this is the worst patch they have found themselves in since the time when Gautam Gambhir was a part of the Indian Test team. And guess what, this time around Gautam Gambhir is the Head Coach of the Indian Cricket Team. Not only is he the man responsible for Indian Cricket, but he is also being blatantly false to save his face in front of the media. A sign that he may not be the right man for the job.

In the press conference leading up to the last match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024/25 with Australia leading the series 2-1, Gautam Gambhir was being quite candid in his statements about the mindset of the Indian team. The New Year’s test is a must-win for India if they want to hold onto their BGT title, which makes it an all-important affair.

Earlier there was a report stating how Gautam Gambhir had lost his patience looking at the way India was playing in Australia. But he squashed those rumours in yesterday’s presser. Gautam Gambhir stated, “I don’t think I need to answer to any reports,” Gambhir said before the start of the fifth Test. “There are some honest words. That’s all I can say. Honesty is extremely important if you want to go on and achieve some great things.”

Further talking about his feelings about the position India finds themselves heading into the SCG test, Gambhir expressed, “If someone had said 40-45 days ago that we would be in this situation, that we can come to Sydney and draw this series, it’s a good position to be in. And I don’t think so that anything is out of control.”

“When you come to a Test like this, it’s not that batting didn’t do well or bowling didn’t do well. If batting and bowling hadn’t done well, we wouldn’t have won a Test match or we wouldn’t have been 2-1 down. We could have been in a worse situation. So, as I said, I don’t think so that anything is worrisome. We know we’ve got the skill set. We’ve got the individuals. We’ve got everything in that dressing room that can win a Test match here. Not only here, probably go on to do some unbelievable things in the future as well.”

But let’s be honest, at this point in time, nothing is under control. After Rohit Sharma was made to sit out of the last test, the situation in the Indian camp looks as dire as ever.

On top of that, Australia dominated the first day of the test and bowled India out for just 185 runs. While India did respond with a wicket at the closing hours of the day, it’s clear who is ahead in the test match early on and it’s not the visiting team.
