Indian chess fans applauded Grandmaster Hikaru Nakamura’s appreciation for newly crowned World Champion, D Gukesh. Gukesh, a Chennai resident, trains at the academy of five-time world champion Viswanathan Anand. Magnus Carlsen did, congratulate Gukesh on his outstanding performance against Ding Liren at the World Chess Championship. He had drawn everyone’s attention by winning the eight-man Candidates tournament in Toronto becoming the world championship’s youngest challenger to date. He won three major titles this year.
In addition to being the world’s number three, Nakamura is a popular YouTuber with 2.67 million subscribers. He is known for promoting chess by evaluating top games and generating instructional videos. Nakamura announces his weekly streaming schedule, including the topic and time of publication. Typically, he offers Eastern US and Central Europe timings, but this time he included Indian Standard Time. Gukesh became the youngest World Chess Champion.
After defeating Ding Liren of China in Singapore, he is only the second Indian, after Viswanathan Anand, to win the world title. Indian fans appreciated Nakamura’s generosity and expressed their gratitude in his tweet. At the age of 18, Gukesh earned 20 crores in INR. D Gukesh upset Chinese veteran Ding Liren in the fourteenth and final game. Gukesh created history by winning the match 7.5-6.5.
